Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. Here is a plain-language account of how HamroLicense handles the limited information it collects.

Last updated: July 2026

Who we are

HamroLicense is an independent, privacy-first service that helps drivers in Nepal check the print status of their driving license. Our website address is https://hamrolicense.com.

This policy explains what information we handle, why we handle it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read — not to hide behind jargon.

Information you provide

The only information you actively share with us comes from two places: the contact form (your name, email address, an optional subject, and your message) and the notify form on the Smart License page (your email address).

In this release those forms are a demonstration — what you type stays on your device and is not sent anywhere. When our backend launches, these submissions will be stored securely in the HamroLicense database so we can reply to you and let you know when features go live. We will only ask for what we genuinely need.

Technical and usage data

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may record standard technical details when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is used to keep the service secure, diagnose problems, and defend against abuse and spam.

The license print-status check itself is performed without profiling you: we do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell your information.

Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. If we introduce account or commenting features, we may set cookies so you do not have to re-enter your details each time — for example, an opt-in cookie that remembers your name and email for convenience, which would expire within a year.

Sign-in and session cookies, where used, store only what is needed to keep you logged in and to remember display preferences. A short-lived cookie may also be set to check whether your browser accepts cookies; it holds no personal data and is discarded when you close the browser.

Embedded content from other sites

Some pages — such as articles in our blog or news sections — may include embedded content like videos or images hosted elsewhere. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website directly.

Those third-party sites may collect data about you, set their own cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, especially if you have an account and are signed in to them.

Media and uploads

If image uploads become available in the future, please avoid uploading photos that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors could otherwise download such images and extract that location information.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. Where we rely on service providers — for example hosting, email delivery, or automated spam detection — they process data only on our behalf and under appropriate safeguards.

If you ever request a password reset for an account, the reset email may include your IP address as a security measure.

How long we keep your data

Contact and notify submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond to you or to send the update you asked for, and no longer than necessary. For any account you create, we store the profile information you provide until you delete the account.

You can ask us to remove your information at any time, subject to anything we are legally required to retain.

Your rights over your data

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct or erase it. Erasure does not extend to data we must keep for legal, security, or administrative reasons.

To make any of these requests, email us at hello@hamrolicense.com.

Questions about this policy

If anything here is unclear, or you would like to exercise a right described above, reach us at hello@hamrolicense.com. We will respond as quickly as we can.
